"Celebrating 25 years of music, the National Concert Hall this year brings together the biggest and hottest acts on the traditional music scene to perform at ESB BEO Celtic Music Festival, 5th – 20th August 2006.
The line up features the legendary Chieftains with The Dublin Gospel Choir and Orchestra of the National Concert Hall; Peadar Ó’Riada, Sean Ó’Sé and members of Ceoltoiri Chualann in a tribute concert to Seán O’Riada; winner of two Grammy awards, vocalist, Iarla O’Lionaird and his band, followed by the celebrated duo Martin Hayes, fiddle and Dennis Cahill guitar.
Setting the stage alight with rhythmic energy and flair at an afternoon concert are well-known traditional group Kíla.
The festival also boasts a series of lunchtime concerts performed by Puck Fair featuring Brian Dunning, flute; music students from Meitheal music residency in Limerick and harpist Tríona Marshall together with brother Charles Marshall who performs the Ranjo Satsumabiwa (Japanese lute)."
