On Sunday, September 30th there will be a memorial session for Ray Murphy at the Porterhouse in Montvale, NJ. It is scheduled to run from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Ray, a seemingly permanent fixture at the twice monthly session hosted by Linda Hickman and Rose Flanagan at the Porterhouse, passed on Sunday, August 26th. He also played there twice monthly with Liscune.

I've extended this invitation to Ray's friends in the Old Time music circle as well. These are the two musical genres that Ray so very much loved and in which he was so very accomplished as a musician. Ray often remarked to me that he'd like to see the two genres come together more often. I can think of no better way to pay tribute to him then to play both of these musics together in celebration of his life.
Please come by to share some tunes, stories, laughs, and perhaps some tears for our dear friend Ray Murphy. Fintan, the owner of the Pub, has graciously offered to host this event and will put out a spread of food for all.
Please let me know by September 21st by way of return email (Ed@EdSaultz.com) or calling (201-424-6141) if you plan to attend as I need to give Patrick, the pub's manager, a count so they can assure sufficient food is available.

Rose Flanagan wanted me to add that the first Porter House Session is Sunday Sept. 16th, at 5:00, and this will also be fully dedicated to Ray's memory. Linda and Rose cannot imagine having the session without remebering Ray. So they would like to extend an invitation to all of Ray's friends and musical companions who would like to attend. If anyone has any pictures to share that would be wonderful too.
