All B&Bs in the area are FULL so don't even think about it. We normally allow tents and campers to stop over but ALL our facilities are in use, 'cept the BBQ. Camp site last time was around the GAA pitch which meant showers and toilets were available.
The last time the Fleadh was in Waterford, 6yrs ago, also in Lismore, it was organised in the main by the Ballyduff CCE branch. The weather was perfect, the Guinness rig was in (fairly) constant use, three forign bands kept us amused, and the final show with the (local) Booley House Carbaret and Sharon Shanon was a great hit playing to a full street.
Afterwards people compared it (very favourably) to the All Irelands in Listowel in the early 70's. NO HIGHER complemant can be made. (I know I was at 'em all).
May the God's and the sun shine on us this year. To quote W.M.Thackery also raving on about Lismore...may.."the blue sky bend over all".
Bye the bye I'll be 50 ( Abraham!!) the weekend after (actually Mon July 23rd) and hereby cordially extend an open invite to all musicians to come by (with a bottle or 2). I never thought I'd see it this far so I want to bling.
