March 6-8 2009 at An Droichead, Cooke Street, Lower Ormeau Rd, Belfast
Belfast & District Set Dancing & Traditional Music Society in association with Na Píobairí Uilleann presents The 17th Belfast Tionól, an annual gathering of Uilleann pipers.
This year’s tutors will be Éanna Ó Cróinín, Gay McKeon and Nollaig Mac Cárthaigh. All levels of piping will be catered for and Paddy O’Hare will conduct a reedmaking class.
Classes will begin at 10.30 am and with a lunch break from 1.00 - 2.00 pm and will continue until 4.00 pm
Cost £10.00 per day.
There will be an evening of piping, including our famous and much admired and imitated Piper’s Chair, beginning at 8.00 pm. All pipers and lovers of piping are welcome and we would be pleased if you can be there for an enjoyable occasion.
