A delight to music lovers of all ages, uilleann piper Martin Nolan and guitarist Dan Carollo bring a diverse repertoire of traditional Irish Music.

Acoustic guitarist Dan Carollo is joined by ulleann piper Martin Nolan for an afternoon of traditional Irish music at the Christ Church Waterford "Coffee Concert" series in Waterford Ireland (Sunday, January 18th, noon)


About Martin Nolan:

Martin Nolan is a highly respected and accomplished musician and composer who has been playing uilleann pipes for almost thirty years. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Martin took his first lessons there from John Keenan Sr., father of well-known piper is Paddy Keenan.

Recent performances include a concert at the Lincoln Centre for the Arts in New York, with singer/songwriter Melanie O'Reilly, and a role as an on-stage musician in "The Colleen Bawn", which played in the Abbey Theatre, Dublin in 1998 and 1999, and the National Theatre in London in 1999.

In 2000, Martin appeared with CoisCéim, Irish dance theatre, in their production "Ballads," which played in Dublin and at the prestigious dance festival, Jacob's Pillow, in Massachusetts.

About Dan Carollo:
Dan Carollo performs solo and accompaniment Irish-style guitar and has been playing guitar for over 25 years.

Dan's recent release of "Miles from Dublin" was recently added to the Irish Traditional Music Archive in Dublin, Ireland and listed in the January/February 2007 issue of "The Journal of Music in Ireland".

Music from his second CD release, "Miles From Dublin", as well as some original scoring was included in the film "The Dark Horse" by Seattle film director Cornelia Duryée Moore, which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in June 2008.

Dan currently lives in Bray, Ireland after relocating from Seattle, Washington in December 2007.
