TG4 has commissioned a new nine part TV series which will be broadcast from the 29th October for nine weeks. Produced by musician Conor Byrne, the series follows an assortment of interesting people on their journeys to learn a traditional instrument, and includes premiership footballer Andy Reid, and the Oscar winning English actor Jeremy Irons. Our very own Cork RTE radio presenter has learned to play the "flute" under the tutelage of Cork flute maestro Johnny McCarthy (4 star Trio). The forty minute documentary of his six month musical journey will be screened today for a small number of lucky guests.
