The Irish American Heritage Center, along with the Francis O’Neill Club, the Irish Musicians Association and the Chicago chapter of Ceoltiori Eireann are pleased to present Echoes of Erin, the 2008 Comhaltas (pronounced coltas) North American Concert Tour at the Irish American Heritage Center this fall.
This concert features the finest in traditional Irish music, song and dance by the next generation of artists in Ireland. This year’s Echoes of Erin tour visits nine cities across North America, starting in Mineola , New York and wraps up in Chicago at the IAHC.
Irish musicians and singers, as well as dancers, will take the stage on fiddle, harp, flute, accordion, banjo and more. There are 18 performers, which include 4 singers, 3 fiddle players, 1 banjo player, 2 accordion players, a flute player, 1 piper, 1 harpist, 1 concertina player, 5 dancers and 1 storyteller. They hail from 10 different counties in Ireland as well as 1 performer from Liverpool, England.
Echoes of Erin is Saturday, October 18 at 8pm. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $17 for IAHC and CCE Branch Members and $15 for seniors and students under 18 years old. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 773-282-7035, ext. 10.
