Singer, songwriter and gifted musician, Andy Irvine is one of those few folk style guitarists to become a legend in their own lifetimes. He also plays harmonica, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki and hurdy-gurdy.
Andy started his musical career back in the 1960s playing Dublin's folk scene with such artists as Johnny Moynihan, Ronnie Drew and Luke Kelly. In 1966 he joined Sweeney's Men who recorded an album and some hit singles (who doesn’t remember or sang along with “The Old Maid in The Garret”?).
He's also played with Planxty, Mosaic and Patrick Street and is a musician not to be missed both for music and nostalgia reasons.
