Have just had confirmation from the promoter that unfortunately, Thursday night's concert at Hackney Empire has been cancelled due to poor advance ticket sales.
..... but we're still on for our concert at the London Irish Centre on Friday night (details at the bottom of this email) - hope to see you there
I was bitterly disappointed to hear this great show of traditional music had been cancelled. I only just bought the Irish World today (Weds 11th) and was delighted to read even though it the first time I'd seen any advertising about it (and i look our for most traditional events in london) that my favourite traditional band "the Border Collies were going playing just 30 minutes away from where im living. Dervish are great too, but The border collies are not known for travelling to london at all really , so this was a unique oportunity to see a fantastic band from around the sligo area in action. I even made a few phone calls to tell a few friends and only discovered it was cancelled when i went onto the hackney empire website and noticed a different night of music completely was planned ! we had it all planned and ive had to phone them again just before sending this post that it was called off ! we are all gutted over it ! Hope it will be re-scheduled ! regards
