The London Lasses have already brought their unique sound to some of the world’s most prestigious festivals and concert halls – Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Cambridge Folk Festival, Ennis Trad Festival, Glastonbury, Open House (Belfast), Philadelphia Irish Festival, Sidmouth International Festival and Spitalfields to name but a few.

Following this week’s release in UK shops of their 3rd album Enchanted Lady, this highly renowned traditional Irish six-piece will be playing at Hammersmith Irish Centre on 10 March. They will be launching their album in Ireland later in the year at Ceiliúradh an Earraigh (Celebration of Spring) traditional music festival in Gurteen, Co Sligo, on Sunday 6 May 2007. More UK, Irish and other European dates for 2007 tbc.

Enchanted Lady can also be purchased directly from the band’s website: www.londonlasses.net

Hope to see you at Hammersmith - Karen

Some early quotes about Enchanted Lady:

'The sort of album to make anyone fall in love with Irish music'
David Thorpe, The Irish Post

'They play with much finesse without missing the trick of generating the informality and excitement of pub sessions'
Colin Randall, The Daily Telegraph

'Third album from the Irish six-piece who play traditional music beautifully, unadulterated by global influence or genre crossover. Grand.'
BBC Radio 2, Folk & Acoustic website

'Enchanted ladies and gentlemen you will be, once this album reaches your weary little ears'
Shelley Marsden, The Irish World

Following critical acclaim for their eponymous debut release in 2000 and the follow-up Track Across the Deep (2003), Enchanted Lady sees the group subtly expanding the sound palette while never straying too far from their dynamic signature sound of twin fiddles, flute, accordion and piano. Bursting into life with a vibrant set of reels and signing off with an intricately arranged set of jigs, the collection is the group’s finest, most compelling work to date. Captivatingly sung by Kathleen O’Sullivan, with tasteful and entirely sympathetic instrumental support, the album’s four songs range from the comic to the heartrending.

Och, they didn't mention the Diamond, Coleraine, where Slainte & I saw them play, last year!

Worth every penny of the ticket money - in my book!
[ Of course we saw them for free! ]
