This performance is part of the legendary Friday night series produced by Don Meade, formerly at the Blarney Star, now held on the campus of NYU in Greenwich Village. This will mark our formal debut as a trio, although the three of us have played together in various combinations for many years. Here is "The Blurb": Fiddler Brendan Callahan was born in the Washington, DC area and now makes his home in Philadelphia. One of the finest Irish-style fiddlers in the US, Brendan was tutored as a youngster by the fiddle great Brendan Mulvihill and went on to achieve success in competitions and to record a critically praised solo CD. Brendan, who plays with a delicate touch unlooked for in a large-framed shotputter and college football lineman, will be joined by Baltimore's Sean McComiskey, another super-talented musician who, like his father Billy, is a virtuoso of the button accordion. Accompaniment by the very accomplished Darin Kelly of Philadelphia, who is becoming the favored backer of many top-flight east coast Irish musicians.
