Packie Duignan week-end

Emphasis for week-end is flute playing although we hope for a full gathering of every instrument. Opening session will be in Gunnings where Packie played. On Saturday there will be workshops in Flute, Whistle, Bodhran and Sean Nos Dancing. Saturday evening will consist of "The gathering" where flute players from the area and further afield will give a short recital and we will have a few "Packie" stories!
On Sunday we will have a late breakfast/lunch session.
All musicians, singers, dancers very welcome indeed. The more the merrier and Drumshanbo is the most welcoming of towns for musicians.

Aftermath of wonderful week-end

Just to let ye all know this was a highly successful event.
We were honoured to have musicians, especially flute players from all over the country at the Flute Gathering in memory of Packie on Saturday night. There were so many we had to put 4/5 on stage at one time. It was a friendly, emotional, warm night of music in memory of a well loved local man.
the town was packed all week-end with musicians from all over the country with many visitors from Northern Ireland.
We hope to see them all pack again next year.
