Titanic Folk Club

The Titanic Folk Club will be launched tonight in Bar Budda in the Odyssey Pavilion. This is a cross community project between the Ulster Scots Agency and Foras na Gaelige to promote

language and culture through music, dance, song and storytelling. The club opens tonight at 8pm with the Ulster Scots Folk Orchestra and Neadar, a comtemporary Irish group from Castlewellan that featured recently on BBC1’s Blas Ceoil. There will also be Scottish & Irish
dancing as well as a few yarns in Irish and Ulster Scot. This promises to be a great evening's entertainment and plans to become a regular event. The long term aim is to attract headline Folk artists whilst providing a platform for emerging talent from both Ulster Scot and traditional Irish backgrounds. There will be an open mic slot available each week and at the end of the performances a full swinging session swapping tunes and stories will take place.

Admission is £4.
