Mary Fox has an international reputation as a dance tutor, recently representing N. Ireland at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC. This workshop is perfect for beginners. Mary will be teaching basic steps for sets and Ulster dances.
From Mary, “This dancing represents the most traditional form of Irish Social Dancing with European influences from the late 18th century. These dances are familiar today as quadrilles which are danced in village halls, Orange halls and céilidhs throughout the country. The lively music makes the dancing infectious, encouraging all to participate. Energetic and exhilarating, enjoyable and sociable!”
