I don't think anyone was talking about a two-row C/G except in the context of history. You don't have a C# on such an instrument, which may be why the older generation of players often played D tunes in the key of C. more…

I think that all you can say is that Irish music, Scottish music and Bluegrass all share a certain amount of common ancestry. Bluegrass isn't an offshoot of ITM any more that homp sapiens are offshoots of chimpanzees. more…
