I asked a general fleadh question a few weeks ago but I'm unsure of what to do exactly for the duet. I'd like to know if it's like a solo competition (ie Do 2 single tunes with your companion, not in a set) or if you are allowed to do it in a set.
And if you must do your tunes in sets then must they be a certain time lenght (eg between 6-8 minutes of performace time like Grupa Ceoil). And, also, is it just one set or must you do 2?
The duet rules are the same as the solo competition rules. It depends in the age group, under 12, two contrasting pieces, 12 - 15 two contrasting pieces, 15 - 18 three contrasting pieces and 0ver 18 four contrasting pieces. good luck

Re: Duet question for Dublin Fleadh
U-12 - 2 tunes played individually - ie a Jig and a Reel, usually played twice through
12-15 - Same as above
15-18 - 3 tunes same format - ie Jig, Hornpipe & Reel
O-18 - 4 Tunes - ie Hornpipe, Jig, Set Dance & Reel
Only 1 tune of each type is permitted.
