Is the new solas dvd/cd always sold sepretly, does anyone know of a site where you can buy both together I tried cdconnections& cd universe but I think it was Just the cd for sale
If it's so good, why not post it in the "Recordings" section and tell us what's on it and what exactly it is that makes it so "Awesome"? That would be much more helpful. I liked "Solas" early recordings, but not much of what they've done in the past few years. How would you say this compares with their previous recordings ? Thanks.
Hold on – I’ve just looked at the Link, and the track listings are there. A lot to post, so don’t bother unless you really want to. Since it’s a “Greatest Hits” type of recording, then it’s going to be selections from all of their previous work. I would think it very good value if you don’t have any other “Solas” recordings.
I just bought it at Borders Books and Music, so it has finally shipped. It has a very loose and party feel to it, much more relaxed than their studio recordings, and even more loose than many of the concerts I have seen them play--I am sure that is due to the mix of old and new members coming together for the first time. Those who like the old stuff will enjoy hearing Karan Casey, John Doyle and John Williams on some of the cuts. I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD yet.
I enjoy their older stuff more than the newer stuff, although they seem to be emerging from their "pop band" phase, and getting back to their roots a little lately, which for me is a happy development.

Re: The new solas dvd
I bought the DVD and CD together; they came in one package, but I bought it at a concert a month ago.
Compass Records seems to be taking orders:http://www.compassrecords.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=244&osCsid=23ad90fac6947ea9d2bd3f03e6574534
Oh boy, buy the combo if you can; it's absolutely fabulous. I've been listening almost nonstop for a month!
