To you, what type of microphone should i use to record a flute (and a low whistle, but i think it's the same thing)? Thanks

If you're aiming for a quality recording, a stage mic isn't going to cut it. You'll want to use some sort of condenser mic. http://www.mcgee-flutes.com/flutemic.html

What sort of room will it be in? Solo? What medium/system are you recording to?
I've done a fair amount of flute recordings, but I've also used a bunch of different mics...
Thanks,
stv
