I know my love...

I know my love...

Does anyone know the name or/and even better have the sheetnotes of the tune the Chieftains play in "I know my love"? They play that song together with the Corrs ... If so, pleeeeeeeeeease let me know!
Thanks in advance,
mairie

Re: I know my love...

But that's not what Mairie is asking for.

Re: I know my love...

If I recall it right, it's a variation of Promenade, which reallly is a slip jig.

Re: I know my love...

Also known as Coleman's slip jig. It's here in the database

Re: I know my love...

Nostalgia note ! I have an E.P. record (circa 1963 Topic) of the McPeake Family on which James McPeake sings and accompanies himself on the harp -"-I know my love." Magic !

Re: I know my love...

If this is the song I think it is, then John Doyle plays it. I really love this song! On what other albums (besides those listed here) does this song appear?

Re: I know my love...

yep, it's just a great song
Eliza Carthy sings it as well (don't know how the album is called)

Re: I know my love...

You're welcome Mairie!
Yes it's a great song and I actually like the way Chieftains do it whith the Corrs.
BTW, the Promenade is a great tune. Kevin Burke and Michail Dhomnaill (I know the pronounciation is wrong!) does a great version on the album named 'Promenade'.
