Hello
Just a simple question: do you know of any Saturday sessions in Dublin that do not end before 1 am?
I heard that in some places like Gogarty's they may be on till 2 am, but still, is there any place you know of, that runs all night sessions?
The reason I ask is that I arrive around 1, 2 am and have to be up at 7 am. I don't mind one night without sleep (especially that I wouldn't get enough of it anyway), so I'm wondering if there's any possibility of spending it with some musical company in a nice, friendly place, playing till dawn.
BTW I'm talking about June right now, if it's any difference.
Gogarty's is more of a miked-up gig, not an open session at that time of night.
Club Chonradh na Gaeilge on Harcourt St. or the Harcourt Hotel sometimes have late sessions at that time but there's no guaranteed weekly late one that i know of.
I guess I may consider that Gogarty's gig as well. After all, I'm coming mainly to learn so I don't want to miss any opportunity either to listen or to play.
Anyway, I'll check both in person.
Thanks for the tip, Diamondo
Seems like the best solution would be to combine these two ideas and book a night at Gogarty's. I can always go downstairs to play or listen or just take a walk to Harcourt.

Re: Late, late sessions in Dublin
Maybe the Harcourt. I remember going to sessions there with a few locals and it was about 4am or 5am before we all got turfed out.

I don't think the Harcourt has any weekend sessions at all nowadays. You're probably best advised to just book a hostel or B&B for the night.

Gogarty's is probably the latest. Ive often seen musicians join in, if they have a pick up, with the band.
