Mick O'Connor. I don't know how much he teaches these days, or how much he charges, but you can't go far wrong with him. You should be able to contact him through Mick Bailey at the 'Wraggle Taggle' website http://www.belsizesquare.freeserve.co.uk/ .
"but you can't go far wrong with him" - Spot on Spoon, I'll second that. Mick has to be one of the tastiest, most stylish Banjo players to ever put pick to string. Newty, If you manage to track Mick down & get some lessons from him, you will be blessed!
And if I dont get any guidance soon i'll be ......... I wish I hadnt read the threads about techniques, I was perfectly happy until then. That Mike Keyes has got a lot to answer for!
Mick O'Connor's your man. I've had lessons from him and am hoping to return to put right all the bad habits I've picked up this last 18 months without his guidance.
Brendan Mulkere does a Monday night session lesson at Hammersmith Irish Centre and he can show you a thing or two on the banjo. But he's more interested in the fiddle and there is scant individual attention.
