How about Traditional Music of Ireland or TMI. I know I hear folks say “TMI” often these days over here. I not convinced their use of TMI is really only referring to the music.
It’s a good thing we’re not talking about the Traditional Music of Jordan as some may think it nothing other than a bunch of jaws clicking. I usually refer to the music as the traditional music of Ireland and tend not to use acronyms.
In the part of Scotland Im from, if I said I was off to play TIM music...it would warrant a few raised eyebrows, or even fisticuffs Im afraid to say...so I always refer to ITM Mairi.
ITM or TIM?
ITM or TIM?
On this site ITM - irish traditional music - is dominant. But a friend of mine insists on calling it TIM by no means. Does it make any difference?

You don't have to be a TIM to play ITM but it helps, is what they say in Glasgow.

I like Bren's suggestion.
It seems somehow more uplifting.

Re: ITM or TIM?
I like Bren's suggestion too -- it would explain why everyone has to go for a ciggie.

Re: ITM or TIM?
I've always been fond of traditional Italian music. Or was that Israeli traditional music? Oh no, of course, it's the traditional music of Idaho.
