Jaff, yes we do have other uilleann pipers here, although they tend to be off worrying over their reeds or whatever rather than posting as much as the rest of us mouthy sorts...
Try The Tempest. It's a fiddle tune, but with a little bit of fiddling it fits the wind instruments. I'll post a pipes friendly version in the tunes section.
if you don't mind playing it last,i have an album where the old bush goes after bunker hill and that's a nice pairing,i think.
by the way, they call it the bush reel, which was a new one on me!
Que, Patrick?! The tyranny of A440?! Seems to me I spend all my time tuning to our piper and his pipes! If it's raining or foggy, he's going to be down, if it's dry (the usual around Denver) he's going to be up, and wherever we start, we're going to have to tune up in about five minutes of playing, and then at ten, and then at fifteen...
All due respect, of course -- Dirk is our band's equivalent of the rock'n'roll guitar god; everyone is fascinated by the pipes, and of course we take it all out on his hide by slagging him unmercifully. Luckily, Dirk takes it all in good stride.
I, another uilleann piper, as you can see from my handle, sometimes play the two part version of Boil the Breakfast Early after the Old Bush, and then usually follow that with Fermoy Lasses. .
But other times I follow it with the Killavil Reel or the Trip to Durrow. It is a favorite tune of mine, but I have never fixed it into a regular set that gets played all the time.
A tune to follow the Old Bush
A tune to follow the Old Bush
I have just about nailed the tune The Old Bush on my uilleann pipes and would like suggestions of a not too difficult reel to follow it.
Thanks
Oh! and is it all fiddle and flute players on this list or are there any other Upipers apart from Mr Hannan.
Come on let yer self be known so we can have some good pipe threads going.
Jaff.

Sailing into Wallpole's Marsh.
The C naturals in each tune really compliment each other. A classic pair

To the right, forward, or backwards, depending on the number of pints.

Ronan Browne and Peter O'Loughlin follow it up with Rakish Paddy and My Love Is In America in a great set off their new album Touch Me If You Dare.

Re: A tune to follow the Old Bush
I tried that. Old bush into the dublin reel, great. But what tune follows the dublin reel? (without repeating the planxty set)
