I'd be grateful if someone could let me know the tune names for Across the Pond CD.
The CD names each track with one of the tunes of the set but doesn't mention the others.
1. It's not been reviewed here.
2. I can't find info elsewhere on the web.
3. I've asked in my local session.
4. I've emailed the group via CD Baby and had a nice reply from Michael Shorrock saying they didn't know the tune titles.
It's a great CD featuring Kevin Griffin, Roger Burridge, Michael Shorrock and Quentin Cooper. Has anyone been able to identify the tunes?
Here's a partial list - I listened to the 2 minute samples on cdbaby, so I didn't hear all of each track.
1. A Night in Ennis (aka Jim Kelly's)/Lads of Laois
2. Lambert's Jig/Cook in the Kitchen
3. Doon Reel/Monaghan Twig
4. Broadway Hornpipe
5. Crowley's #1/Pigeon on the Gate
6. Mountain Top/Anderson's
7. Dr. O'Neill
8. Mossey Banks
9. Jackie Coleman's
10. Echo/The Glasgow (?)
11. Pinch of Snuff (see March 6, 2004 setting in the database here)/Sporting Paddy
12. Sailor on the Rock/Tripping Down the Stairs (aka Green Hills of Antrim)
13. The Waterloo Hornpipe (this is the name a friend of mine gives it).
Thanks Steve, I'm getting closer.
Serendipity Will, I spotted it as I was getting Coyotebanjo. Of course if you're really tempted and buy it you could listen to all the tracks and let me know their names ;)
The first tune of the first track is often known as the Ash Plant. There is another tune of this name.
The last tune of the first track is The Dawn as mentioned on the sleeve.
