ABC query, sorry!

ABC query, sorry!

How do I indicate a one off C natural when the key signature is D major?

Re: ABC query, sorry!

^ = _ before the note indicate sharp natural and flat respectively. Make sure to indicate the next C as a sharp

Re: ABC query, sorry!

As Conán says, = naturalizes the note after it. If that note appears again in the same bar, it stays natural without repeating the equal sign. When the note next appears outside that bar, it automatically reverts to whatever the key signature says it is (in this case, c sharp).

So:
K: D
|cded =cAGE| the first c is sharp, the second is natural
|=cded cAGE| both cs are natural
|=cded ^cAGE| first c is natural, second is sharp
|cded =cAGE|ABcA d4| first c is sharp, second is natural, and third (in next bar) is sharp again.
