I am looking for recordings, mp3, cd, or otherwise 78's? of Johnny Wilmot, Cape Breton (Irish/Scottish style) fiddler. If you have anything to share, or inform me about how to get a hold of one or all, I would like most a copy of his "Another side of Cape Breton" Cd, but would take almost anything. I started researching him online, and have so far added "hughie shorty's" to my personal rep. Any other Johnny fans out there???
You can find Johnnys recordings at www.cranfordpub.com. Its a great source for all those great old Cape Breton recordings .Also a good source for Caper tunes.(you will also find recordings of Tommy Basker here too.Tommy was the best of the harmonica players here. His 'Tin sandwich'Cd Is a super example of the great harmonica culture that exists here.Hope this helps
