Hi,
I have placed an order of a gallagher's half set in D.
I live in Italy, and it is my first order.
Does anyone plays a gallagher's pipes?
Are they good pipes?
Please write to me everything you know about the pipes and the piper.
Thank you very much
David
I had the loan of a Gallagher practice set (pitched in C - yummm!) for a few months and was sorry to have to give it back to its owner. Lovely sound and a pleasure to play.
You can search for comments and information about Seth Gallagher's work at the following site devoted to uilleann piping:
Quanto tempo primo il tuo 'half-set' arrive nel Italia? Dico io 'tanti auguri'. Stai gia suonando gli uilleann pipes o un'altro strumento? Buon fortuna...suono io il fiddle e gli pipes...se hai domande spedirmi un e-mail.
I have a Seth Gallagher full set, and I love it. His pipes are very well-made in my opinion, and Seth is really good at standing by his work. Some great and well-known players who own and play Seth Gallagher pipes are:
1. Paddy Maloney - founder of the Chieftains.
2. Jerry O'Sullivan - a great American piper.
3. Ivan Goff - was touring with Riverdance for a while.
OH YEAH, they're good- one of the club members has a concert D set for sale and I didn't have the $$$ to get them. I have heard and played an SG C set and liked that as well-lots. Seems the world is going C

Re: Seth Gallagher pipes
Seth builds good pipes and will do his best to take care of any technical problems you may encounter.
I have heard his sets in many different places and they work well, look good, and have a pleasing sound. You can do a lot worse.
