You may have seen it in fellow sessioneers, eyes slightly wider than normal, glinting with a lust for tune acquisition.
The query "What was the name of that last tune?" comes out rapidly and in deep earnest. However there's only half an ear on the reply as the next tune is half remembered, presenting a fleeting opportunity to perfect the elusive B part.
Occurred to me first when I started to realise the breadth of tunes out there and the delicious enormity of the task.
I get great inspiration of seeing a person starting out on the music, battling away for a while and then turning up one week with feverish intensity and completely hooked.
Every new tune is exciting, and you want the whole world to know it, feel it, share it.
Honesty compels me to say that when first I got "The Maids of Mt. Cisco", I walked the 7 miles into Liverpool (hard times then! Used to walk in and back) for the Sunday lunchtime at The Hare and Hounds and, really thrilled, asked if they knew it...
Such an understanding bunch...how did they ever put up with me?

Hi there Harry!
A very sensitive touch to your thread.
