ok... sorry Jeremy - I did search for sessions in Portugal and found none. I'm going over there in a week and have managed to narrow down which instruments I'm going to bring with me. Now I just need a session or two to stop into. Anyone know of any going on? Also, if I'm not wrong on this, there's actually a fair bit of Celtic influence in the music/art/dance traditions of Portugal, especially in the North. How similar is it? Any thoughts?
A friend of mine, Mark Crickard, used to run a session in Lisbon when he was there for a few years. So there must be some Irish music out there... I'll find out what I can.
Marcus O'Murchu is just back from that part of the world & may well know of sessions out there, so if you know him, give him a shout.
If you want to get in touch with him, but don't know him, give me a shout & I'll pass your e address on to him if you like. He goes out there each year, & probably has a few contacts he could pass on to you.
cheers... I'll search under sessions to see if anyone posted anything there & I send u an e-mail Ptarmigan. So how about the use of that Portuguese guitar in sessions? Good? Bad?
Portugal...

Re: Portugal...
If anyone does know of any sessions in Portugal, please post them to the Sessions section, *not* here in discussions. Thanks.

Re: Portugal...
I have a Portuguese Guitarra, I play it quite often in one particular session to accompany a singer who plays the mandola.
