This weekend (October 21 - 23) downtown Oslo will be the location for Folkelarm (Folk-noise). This mini-festival is planned to be a show-casing of Norwegian traditional music to the record-industry, the media and the world in general.
The concerts coincides with the Oslo Kappleik (Oslo Fleadh) competitions on Saturday, and will, apart from the competitions, consist of nearly 30 half-hour+ spots with the cream of the crop in Norwegian traditional music today.
At last years Fleadh there was also a magnificent inpromptu session turning more and more Irish as the night became morning. Just a heads up if you are in the greater Oslo area (Gothenburg, Bergen, Copenhagen....).
