speaking of noodling...

speaking of noodling...

As I was noodling aimlessly on the old banjo (in the privacy of my own home) this tune emerged from somewhere:

X:1
T:unknown
M:2/4
R:
K:Amix
e2|a2e2|c2de|fedc|B2Bc|dedc|Bcdf|edcB|A2e2|
|a2e2|c2de|fedc|B2Bc|dedc|dedc|B2e2|A4|A2:||
Bc|dBdB|c2Bc|dddB|c2Bc|dede|c2Bc|dedB|cdef|

c2fg|agfg|edcd|B4|B4|cecB|cecB|dedc|B2e2|A4|A2||

I'm sure the notation is screwed up in countless ways but
Does anyone know
A: what this is,
B: where it's recorded,
C:how it really goes?

It sounds Galician maybe? or Breton?
but really I have no idea how it got in my head!

Re: speaking of noodling...

It does sound Galician-ish. Been listening to Susane Seivane?

Re: speaking of noodling...

Sounds similar to Aires de Pontevedra which made an appearance on one of the Lunasa recordings and maybe an old Kips Bay Ceili Band recording.

Here's how I have it:

T:Aires de Pontevedra
R:reel
D:Lunasa: Merry Sisters of Fate
Z:Bill Reeder
M:C|
L:1/8
Q:1/2=100
K:D

Re: speaking of noodling...

I have an MP3 of it played by Carlos Nunez, the Galician piper.
And jolly good it is too.
