Somehow, (I'm not even sure how,) I stumbled across a website selling pure Irish air. That's it. A glass jar filled with air. You get to choose from four different locations that you want your jar filled from. Is it just me, or is this ridiculous?!
I'm only eighteen, and even I remember being skeptical of bottled water. I mean, come on, it's water! But then, it took off and entire grocery store aisles are dedicated to them.
I’d be more than happy to start bottling genuine NYC air. It’s a $3.00 train ride for me to get there. If the wind is blowing in the right direction I wouldn’t even have to travel, just open my window. Better yet, I can go to one of the hot sessions and bottle genuine, smoke free, “NYC Traditional Irish Session” air. Just think, breathing the air from the same source that some of the great players breathed whilst they were playing could bring your playing to a new level, right? Any interest out there?
On another note, I wouldn’t compare the purchase and consumption of bottled spring water to that of bottled air. The public water supplies in many areas are grossly tainted with all types of harmful additives and other toxins. If you know, and trust, the source of the bottled spring water it indeed may be a healthier alternative to the water that comes out of the spigot.
I believe the same was tried here in Scotland many years ago. I understand (like the Pure Bottled Scottish Rainwater Company) they had a supply issue, and went bust.
Someone should have started bottling pub air before the smoking ban--since it is no longer available, it would increase in value over time--that would bring back memories--but it would have to be sold with a warning label that it might be hazardous to health!
Hey Al, please be assured, there's still plenty of that foul, stinking, nicotene stained, cancer inducing smog in nearly all our pubs up here, in the six counties! Anytime you want a bottle of it, just let me know?
Of course, many years ago, they started bottling water down in Dorset, from the River Piddle.............
But, seriously, when they take ice cores from polar icecaps, and Greenland, etc, they thay them out and have bubbles of air from thousands of years ago, from which they can tell you things about how the environment has changed,,, so maybe bottled air is not so stupid...............yes it is !

Re: Pure Irish Air
Yes. How much do you want and from which areas. I have just started a new wholesale line. You have pre empted my hard hitting marketing strategy.
Bulk buying means lower Prices.
Hurry whilst stocks last.

Re: Pure Irish Air
All that bottled water? From pure springs? It's probably some kid with a hose behind the high school filling up bottles.

Re: Pure Irish Air
Back in the seventies a local entrepreneur used to sell ring pull cans of Blackpool Air. We used to print the labels.
And canned knickers.
My missus bought me a canned husky from Toronto a couple of years ago.
"Is it just me, or is this ridiculous?! " - it's probably that old thing called humour again.
