Re: Tunes section - how can you add another recording?

Once someone has posted a tune, is there a way to add a reference for another recording of the tune, so that it shows up on the initial tune page? If I know of additional recordings of a tune, I've been posting these in the comments section. I wasn't sure how to put them on the list that comes up with the tune.

The links between recordings and tunes happen automagically. You enter tunes and recordings, and the system creates the cross-reference as long as the tune name is spelled the same way in both places. If there is an alternative spelling, you can enter that as an alternate name for the tune, and it will be picked up.

What if a recording isn't listed on the Session yet? (I might not have all the data on a particular recording, or the time to list it, but I might want to point people to it to hear a particular tune.)

That's one of the great things about the recording listing...Jeremy doesn't have to do it all, because everyone can! Anyway, yes, someone has to enter the recording information in before it shows up... :)

If you know of a recording of a tune and you want it to show up as a link with that tune, you have to submit the track listing of that recording in the "Recordings" section of the site.

If you don't have time to submit the entire album, you could just mention, in the comments section of the tune, the name of the recording. Of course, then it won't show up as a link under the tune's details.
