Does anybody know about button accordion button/key weight and how to change it ? I have a cairdin mini deluxe and want to change the weight of the buttons, ie make them more responsive.

Emily:

I'd encourage you to visit the Yahoo group for Irish box players (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/irishbox/) in whose archives you can find detailed instructions on various modifications, and accurate advice on which mods should or should not be undertaken by non-specialists.

Re: accordion diy

Speaking as one who has no better sense than to diy an accordian, thanks to both of you. I'm still trying to figure out how to cap off the 3rds on a 120Bass P.A. for now I'm just hooting the contras and playing open 5ths on the keyboard. ..Unless it's a pub sing in which case I'll haul out the "full Bavarian."

Re: accordion diy

Hold it by the thin end and bang it on the floor a few times.

or is that a banjo I'm thinking of?

Re: accordion diy

Emioy, sounds like you need different springs on the buttons.
