Boxwood 2002 - Wooden Flute Festival

Boxwood 2002 - Wooden Flute Festival

Well, I just returned from Boxwood 2002. It's a wooden flute festival held every year in Lunenburg Nova Scotia, hosted by Chris Norman. It was a blast! We had Pat O'Gorman, a Toronto player who is excellent and Cathal McConnell as the resident Irish masters. What an experience. We learned tunes, met other players from all over the world and had some great sessions. I wasn't really ready to jump feet first into the sessions, but I got in on a few tunes. It was really great and I just loved hearing the calibre of some of those musicians. If anyone is looking for a flutes only festival, Boxwood is a great choice!
