Re: Good banjo strings

Old dead strings are good. You don't want to change them too often.

Re: Good banjo strings

You can get Elixir singles at juststrings.com. I get banjo, bouzouki and other odd strings I play from them as singles and it works out pretty good value. I've just tried Elixirs for the first time on my guitar and they are very good. They seem to last quite a while and for an instrument I don't play very often it's nice to pick it up after a few weeks and have strings that haven't turned into rusty wire.

Re: Good banjo strings

I overheard a banjo player waxing lyrical about titanium strings recently.

Re: Good banjo strings

Newtone strings are the best IMHO

Find them here http://www.dwmee.34sp.com/

He makes batches up to order, whatever gauge you want, minimum order typically 4 sets, but it can take quite a while as he is sooo popular so order more than you think you need.
