These are tunes I can't find: Mullins Fancy, The Raveled Hank of Yarn, Gilbert Clancy's, The Wounded Hussar, Slieve Russel, McGettricks, The Whinny Hills of Leitrim. Does anyone know where I can find these or could they submit them to the tunes list in here? Thanks ahead.-Tom
I don't think he has any airs, so you won't find the Wounded Hussar there. I learned it from a tape of an LP of Séamus Ennis years ago but I can't find it on any of my 3 CDs of him. Tony McMahon recorded it also on his solo record decades ago. I can't imagine anyone getting this tune down convincingly from sheet music - it's in a very free metre.
Gilbert Clancy's is perhaps better known as Sean Reid's, but it's there on Norbeck's site as Gilbert Clancy's.
There are probably several tunes known as McGettrick's - there's one on Norbeck's site but it's not the one I know, which is on Contentment is Wealth by Matt Molloy & Sean Keane. (McGettrick was a whistle player admired by Matt Molloy.)
"The Wounded Hussar" and 117 other airs can be found in Tomas O Canainn's "Traditional Slow Airs of Ireland" (Ossian Publications, Cork, Ireland). A pair of demo cassettes are available with a CD version supposedly coming soon. The book is around $20. The tapes, about $15.
I just posted a version of Wounded Hussar to the tune list (as learned from the Peter Cooper book) along with some comments from the book about where the tune came from and what it was about. Don't know if it is the one you were looking for or not...

Re: Tunes I can't find
Henrik Norbeck's site. You'll find most of them there - look in the index.

Re: Tunes I can't find
I have the music for some of these tunes but I don't know how to put them into ABC. I can scan in the sheet music and e-mail them to you if you wish
