Joe's funeral is to be this friday, the 17th, at the bandstand in Nuns Moor Park, Nuns Moor Road, Newcastle upon Tyne at 10am, and friends, fellow musicians, or anyone else whose life was enriched by knowing him are most welcome.
Hi I had never heard of the Old Rope String Band until last Nov when we were in the Isle of Man and staying with Mary Molloy and John. Mary had a Video of them.Mary gave me the tape home with me and i watched it about twenty times and i never laughed so much and i never saw so much talent
I have been in France for holidays and came home on Fri to find out about Joe Scourfields tragic death so tonight i viewed thier website which had photos of the Funeral and i think it must have been the biggest musical Funeral ever.
I would like to offer my condolances to all his family and friends and i am sorry that i never had the pleasure of meeting him Michael Keown
