Irish music University Courses

Irish music University Courses

Hi, could anyone tell me if there are any more Irish trad degrees or courses in Ireland apart from the ones in Limerick and Cork.

Thanks

Re: Irish music University Courses

Hey trad girl.

I know there is a trad course starting in Derry at soon, there was a thread posted up here a few months ago.

There is also a folk music course at Newcastle University i England (or is it Northumbria?)

Well to answer your question, yes there are courses other than the ones you've mentioned but i'm not too hot on the detail as you can see :-) Hope it helps tho!

Re: Irish music University Courses

I know someone who is just on their final year of an Irish trad course in Waterford. I took a quick look at their website and it gives the impression it is a generic course but that isn't my understanding.

Re: Irish music University Courses

That one at the University of Ulster's Magee campus in Derry is on the go now I believe:

Maurice Bradley is taking an excellent course which runs up to this in the NWIFHE also.

Have a look at the above link anyhow.
