Hello everyone. looking for uilleann pipe information. (still)
this time i was wondering if it is possible to rent uilleann pipes. For some instruments there are rent to own programs. Has anyone heard of this for uilleann pipes?
I really don't know. but I have a feeling that Na Piobaire uilleann might have a few sets for hire, but that is in Ireland, and won't suit you. This is their list of makers, it might be a good place to start................ http://www.pipers.ie/en/pipemakers.lasso
rentals, like a guitar store- not on your life. Loaners from clubs, that's another story. If you're lucky a club might have one or two practice sets to loan out to learners. Go look at patrick sky's website- a practice set for $600 and 2 months wait

I believe you are Minnesotan? You could ask here:

Their gathering is this weekend, and you will have a chance to meet local pipers.
