Looking for Welsh Dave the banjo and Irish Mary the mandolin
Does anyone know the whereabouts of this couple (if indeed they still are a couple). Last heard of based around Swansea, both mid-forties, Dave is a banjo player, Mary plays mandolin and sings, red hair, they used to have a regular gig in Shanghai. Anyone? Anyone...?
Re: Looking for Welsh Dave the banjo and Irish Mary the mandolin
I'm trying to get in touch with my ex-wife, she is on holiday at present. She should have news of Mary, I used to play in sessions with her quite often when I lived in Pontardawe but I'm sure I heard she'd moved back to Ireland. Anyway I'll let you know the outcome when I can.

Ian, can you remember the surname of the Banjo player that used to play with Joe Holland at the sessions at the Irish club in Port Talbot? I know his first name was Tommy, but I'm damned if I can remember his second. It's been buggging me lately that I can't remember it.

There was Jimmy Barco, who I think now plays in Manchester. I can't for the life of me remember another banjo player, but my memory for names isn't the best these days. Have you any news of Joe or indeed the Blaney's?
Re: Looking for Welsh Dave the banjo and Irish Mary the mandolin
I have just found an E-Mail address for Mary McCormack and Dave Richards, I am trying it tonight. If I get a reply I'll pass it on.
Also I have a CD called Footloose which I'd forgotten about recorded in 1999 in Fermoy, Cork. Unfortunately the telephone No. is a Swansea one. Do you know if they still use it?

Yes Jimmy is in Manchester now. Funnily enough he was on last Saturdays (7th of May) "Ceili House" on RTE.
