Hi - does anybody on this site have any knowledge of how this low D whistle plays? How good is the tone & if it requires much breath, and if the extra weight (being made of brass) is a help or a hindrance?
Chieftain Golds are very hard to come by and very sought after by most whistlers. They are more mellow than the aluminum, heavier, but have the same style. It requires the same amount of breath that the aluminum ones do, significant amount of backpressure. Great whistle, I wish I had one.
I just happened to buy/win one at an ebay-auction and expect to hold it in my hands by end of this week. I will try it and then send you my comment. Currently I am playing overtons (high D and Bb and low D and Bb).
