Re: Fiddle teacher in Lake County, Illinois

Mark, you might try your connections at Old Town or maybe call the Irish American Heritage Center.

Best of luck to you.

Liz Knowles is also an excellent fiddle teacher. Very accomplished player. I take lessons from her now and then. I do believe that she travels and is very flexible with times and days!

I'll find her email addy and get it to you! But you can also get her # through the Irish American Heritage Center.

Good Luck!

Re: Fiddle teacher in Lake County, Illinois

Mark, I know she used to teach but I'm not sure how much teaching she does these days. It's worth a call???.

Re: Fiddle teacher in Lake County, Illinois

Somebody told me recently that she does still teach -- don't know if she's taking any new students, though. As Sandy says, it's always worth a call. At the very least, she can give you Liz Knowles's phone number. ;)

Re: Fiddle teacher in Lake County, Illinois

Liz K. is Seano's sister-in-law, and Seano teaches the whistle for me, so I can get that number! (Small world.) I'm assuming that Liz K. lives in Cook County though, rather than up by me. I'll ask Sean.

I had not really considered calling LC, but you all are right, it's worth a call.

Thanks for suggestions everyone. Mark
