The http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewforum.php?f=6 forum has been locked by its owner. I'm really unhappy, that was another forum I found very useful. I think it was not very wise move by Dale Wisely. Could similar event happen to this greate forum here at thesession.org?

Doubt it. Jeremy's often said that insofar as he's concerned, where the tune archive is of course important, the discussion forum is the heart of the site. I suppose we could act up to the point where he might throw his hands in the air and make us all go away, but it hasn't happened yet, so his patience must be welling from a bottomless pit.
What a bummer. It seems that all the best pipers were using that forum to communicate, and the moderator decided to shut the whole thing down because of a small number of insensitive users. I hope they decide to unlock it soon. Maybe the moderator will figure out how to block out the offending individuals instead of punishing the innocent.
If they don't get it running again, maybe Jeremy would be willing to set up something for pipers. I think C&F was working well because of all the silly little pipe-specific technical difficulties we pipers have to deal with. We really don't want to bore non-pipers with that 3%@9. What do you say, Jeremy?
Hey Zina- so,,,, how's the reeds doin? . Lawdy- you don't want to have people going on and on and on and on about the bore diameter of his/her Taylor set do you? Still trying to figure out how to get to Colorado.
To all- log onto Jeff's site and hopefully we can keep things civil.
Ask Dirk how the damn reeds are doing, Fel! *smirk* Anyway, Bill, why browse through the site? Do what everybody else does and ask whatever question it is you have anyway, and let everyone link you to the old threads. hehehe. (For once, though, it won't be me, because I never pay any attention to pipe threads. *grin*)
Ah, Zina. I'm mostly a spectator here. I just stick my nose in once in a while to see what folks are talking about. Occasionally, I'm able to contribute a comment here and there, but mostly I lurk. So, is Dirk going back to Vermont in August?
dirk: having discussions saved under specific instruments sounds ideal, but I would imagine it would also be a lot of work for Jeremy.
It does sound like we are fortunate to have a "bottomless pit" patience guy.
Speaking of which, to pump up our civility rating I want to thank everyone for their plethora of intelligent musical discourse.
Zina: you are on a pipe thread (sounds like plumbing). Are you paying attention?
I just got my broken computer working again, and was happy to see all you folk's messages here. Of course, the cool thing about that old C&F forum is that's where all the pipers were. Hopefully we can all keep that bunch of folks together on that new forum. Thanks for the link, Jeff.
So Bill, it's nice to hear from you. I sure enjoyed Vermont last year. I'm not sure yet if I can make this year's due to a crazy schedule, but I'll certainly try to make it. So, were you at the St. Louis Tionol this year?
I'll skip the discourse on my reeds right now. I don't want to get depressed. I'll give one vital clue, though... Nederland, Colorado humidity on Saturday was 18%.
The St. Louis tionol is this weekend. My wife and I will take off Friday morning. My reeds worked great all winter long and started getting a little fussy St. Patrick's day week when the weather broke.
We'll be back in Vermont come August. I don't think my wife would let me stay home. I looking forward to not having to play in tents or cramming into someone's small room for a workshop.

Well, just start threads that are uilleann piper specific, silly. :-p If anyone gets bored by that, it's their own damn fault.

Given the amount of traffic on the Session, there's no way I would even attempt to browse through the site, looking for Uilleann piping content.

Zina got antsy and split.... heh heh.
So, I have a house humidifier, and it currently is boosting the indoor humidity UP TO 31%, even though it's set at 35%...
Have fun at the St. Louis Tionol, Bill!

You don't hang out with uilleann pipers? What are you saying???!!! Am I not a piper? Do I need to get to the seven years first?
Sigh..... No more jokes for me...
