It's April fool on this site every day.

It's April fool on this site every day.

This year, I have found it much more difficult to spot the wind ups here as there have been so many threads recently which are hard to believe.
:-)
Do you think April Fools Day has lost its impetus as a result?

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Dunno, but one of the funniest things I've come across today turned out not to be an April Fool's wossname at all. Turns out one of the most important clerics in the Catholic Church in the Philippines is a guy by the name of Jaime Sin. And he's a cardinal...

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Isn't it good craic altogether at this site though! It just gets curiouser and curiouser, and a good long way to go yet is my feeling. Excellent value!

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Does Bodhran Bliss get to simply act normal on April fool's day, or does he turn normal on this day to be contrary to everyone else? ;-)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

I liked the report on CNN this morning about a new law that would make it illegal to surf the internet superway while drinking. No more drinking while on the web.

My first though was "I don't think I can handle thesession.org stone cold sober" ;-)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

April Fool's Day is just another casualty of the bush administration stateside. When everyone is lieing all the time, where's the fun in lieing?

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

It did occur to me, John, that such wind ups are less than special here...

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Matty, my cousin married a woman from the Phillipines, whose uncle is Cardinal Sin. He attended the wedding, but graciously allowed a local priest to do the honors. The priests name--no lie--was Father Godly.

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

So Father Godly and Cardinal Sin walked into a pub one day...

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Anyone check out Google's April fools trick yet? They do this every year....

http://www.google.ca/googlegulp/

The FAQ is particularly funny.

Kris, certainly less than unusual, anyway. ;)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

"Plus, it's low in carbs!" LOL -- that's a particularly good one this year, Mike! hehehe. You're right, the FAQs are particularly funny!

"2. Wait – you're saying Auto-Drink™ changes my brain chemistry?
Um, yeah – but for the better.

3. Isn't that kind of dangerous?
Well, none of the lab rats who've been pounding this stuff for the past eight months have keeled over yet, which we find fairly reassuring. At any rate, you should be aware that by popping the seal on the twist-off Gulp cap, you send a wireless signal to Google's servers indicating your irrevocable acceptance of the Google Gulp Terms and Conditions, which do include the possibility, however remote, of hideous genetic mutation resulting from your consumption of this product. We're pretty sure you won't die, though.""

Mike: let me know when Google puts out an alcoholic gulp beverage. ;-)

If the pope does die before 12.00 midnight, will anyone believe it?

Google Guinness might be good. :)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Hey, http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/index.html is pretty good today too. I can hardly wait for Klingon Eye for the Starfleet Guy. I also like the sound of the BBC remake of the original Star Trek series.

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

LOL -- and the FAQ on the Mirror Universe twin are pretty good, too:

How Can My Loved Ones Tell Me and My Mirror Universe Twin Apart?

Easy. Goatees and scars are good things to look for. Tell your loved ones that if a version of you comes home with a goatee and/or a scar, don't let you in. If you have a goatee and/or scar in this universe already, then tell your loved ones to be on the lookout for a version of you either with no scars or goatees, or an extra goatee and an extra scar. See how this works? Note: Throughout the 1990s, many Earth countries were inundated with Mirror Universe look-alikes. No one is entirely sure where they've gone, although Seattle is suspected.

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

I looked in the mirror the other day, and realized that I look more and more like I did when I was a kid in the funhouse mirrors at the county fair, wide in the middle. But the image also has a goatee, so maybe that is just my image from the mirror universe. Image-in that!

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Zina: so do you look good in a goatee and scars? My brother and sister-in-law live in Seattle, and I have had my suspicions about their whole family for a long time now. I finally got an explanation. Of course, they have had their suspicions of me. If I have a full beard already, how do I identify my Mirror Universe Twin? I wouldn't be able to identify myself now without a beard because I have had it so long, and I don't know what an extra beard would look like.

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Ceol, you *should* be suspicious of anyone who lives in Seattle. They're a very suspicious lot up there. You can trust me on that, because I left Seattle so I'm now above suspicion.

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

Well everyone,..... I'm going to call a cease fire, as the news I am getting right now is that the Pope's health has turned for the worse. Yes Cath, I am noticing. Best Wishes.

Bummer... my links above worked at first but I think yahoo must change them...

Anyways, these ones'll work, so here's to Google Guinness on this april fools day :-)

"I left Seattle"

Sounds like suspicious behavior to me.

I've never tried a goatee before. I'll have to see, Michael. :)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

fiddlemouse: If you left Seattle and are now above suspicion (i.e. Seattle) you must be in Canada now. I heard that the Canadians guarding the border are also suspicious of Seattleans (or Seattlites, or Seattlenians, or ?).
Zina: with sunglasses and a beret, you might start an "artiste" look fad. Would this mean your mirro universe twin would have to shave? ;-)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

I guess the Canadians are even suspicious of American Squirrel Actors.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7359659/
A flying squirrel in a kiddie demonstration show got sued by Ottowains (Ottowites or Ottowinians or ?). ;-)

Re: It's April fool on this site every day.

I have a SIN card! I was performing at the first large national ecumenical conference in the late 1970s, and they wouldn't let us in without our filing for SIN cards. Of course, I didn't get it until about 7 months after the tour ended.
