The second set consists of hornpipes (not reels..., sorry) but we did not have any names.
slainte could help me with names for the first hornpipe (Cruach An Choirce or Stack of Oats). It would be great to also have a name for the second hornpipe in the set. Does anyone know the name? Maybe it is just a Clare version of Drag her round the Road? But the second part is too different...
The first part sounds like that of "Drag her round the road," but the second part is completely different. Es tut mir Leid, Sabine: keine Ahnung. I'm now dying, having had too much wine last night with my friend, but I'm pretty sure both tracks are as much fun as Danny's.
Actually, the last one on my latest submission - Rambling Pitchfork then Trip to Athlone then...? - it's a fairly common jig (slide?) but I have to admit I don't have a name for it!
Can anyone help?
Due to my old slow computer I haven't been able to listen to it, but I hazard a guess it's a hornpipe frequently credited to Jnr. Crehan called 'Her Golden Hair Hanging Down her Back' (!). However I've come across a similar tune in O'Neills or Ryan's called something like 'The Golden Castle', so its probably Crehan's version of an older tune. Let me know if you'd like me to investigate further. The version I learnt is in E minor and resembles the song 'Don't Come Again' recorded by Paul Brady. Hope we're talking about the same tune!
Tune name: help, please

I have submitted a few tunes on Jim's nice Mighty Craic site. http://worldfiddlemusic.co.uk/mightycraiconline/

No name for the second hornpipe yet but a friend of mine just told me that both tunes were written by Junior Crehan.
