Some time ago as a session.org virgin I submitted a discussion about the lose of my precious Mojo. I can now cheerfully reveal that he has returned to the bosom of his mommy, namely me.
OH MY GOD.....when I say he`s come home I`m not joking, for the first time in 3yrs I feel as though I can play again. Life is once again sweet, and the music is pumping out the end of my flute like Seamus Tansey on speed. All hail to Mojo, without you there would be no reason for living!!
Why thankyou Mr B. Mojo told me to tell you that, you were instrumental in his triumphant return. Also he said that thon whistle last night was a marvellous piece of engineering, and boy did you make it play!
But I digress, a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I no longer feel the need to burden my fellow music buddies with threats of total abstinence from the ceol. Instead I am now on a mission from god to improve my playing. Should be interesting.
Good news! I remember your previous discussion topic. Any trade secrets for others suffering from lost mojos? I agree, the mental picture of Seamus Tansy on speed is frightening. I remember the Dervish Mid Summers Night tape of Seamus bouncing to the rhythm. The pictures on the wall behind him were moving. Best Wishes.
I think about it is.......... if every one else is telling you that it`s all good then , it must be allllllllllllll good. Thank christ...... its been a long time coming. Maria - If the last 3 years (probably the amount of time I've known you) has been you playing without the blessed mojo, I'm bloody looking forward to hearing you With the mojo!!!! where had it been all this time? who stole it? I'd say you left it behind you in maddens one night.....
as for the big man from sligo, do you realise you've started the rumour that he has a raging drugs problem?!! I sure dont know about the Blow bit, but I know he's definatley full of wind!! ha ha , my humour cracks me up!
Thanks for the compliment Laura, you`re very kind.I think it`s possible that my mojo may indeed have been left behind some where. Maybe I should have checked the lost and found offices, it could have saved me alot of time and effort. All kidding aside, Mojo definately had an extended leave of abscence,it all happened 3yrs ago when I has having a particularily rough time. I think that I lost my heart where the music was concerned. However the doc say`s I`m doing great now, and should be able to come off the looney tablets any time soon.
On the other hand, I suppose I could give the surplus in mood stabilizers to a certain flatulant flute player from Sligo. Even if he doesnt thank me I`m pretty sure everyone else will.
As for tips about regaining your Mojo, I think the best thing to do is surround yourself with great musicians, that way you cant lose. Cause even if you do sound crap no-one else will notice. Hope you find that useful Ceol Cairdeas, although after my trouble finding him, I hardly think I would be an expert on the subject.
great, man! my cts and coming surgery has not only cut down my physical ability to play, but weakened my mojo, too. great to hear mojo can recover to old strength. you give me hope!
