I'm looking for a set of CDs from bands playing traditional hard core dance tunes (jigs, reels) with as much pipes, fiddle, box music as possible. Which ones would you recommend?
Na Connery's comes to mind. Also, John Whelan has several recordings which feature session type instrumentation and session type tunes. At the same time, you need to be aware that he has some recordings that are decidedly on the "new agey" side (mostly on the Narada label).
"Na Fili" were mainly pipes fiddle and whistle, for the very simple reason that Tomas O'Canainn played both pipes and accordion, and couldn't do both at the same time, and I don't think ever "double-tracked". On the recordings I have there is not much accordion at all. Pipes, fiddle and box, with the added bonus of Tom Doorley's flute, go for "Danu".
John Whelan has won the all Ireland button accordian honors over several years and has done Come to Dance, Celtic Tradition, and Celtic Fire, and is joined on some of the tracks by Eileen Ivers on fiddle and Cillian Vallely on pipes. Danu has some excellent reels and jigs within their first three albums. They are excellent in live performance and have their own website.
Skippinish.
Andrew Stevenson and Angus Macphail on the box and pipes with guest fiddlers such as iain macfarlane and jenna reid. top quality feet tapping ceilidh music at its best. Scottish though, dont know if its irish youre looking for. They have two albums out.
If you're really new to this I would support Bill Reeder's posting above and say get yourself a copy of Na Connery's "The Session" PDQ - pretty much perfection to my ears - (and the follow-up just didn't do it in the same way!)

Re: The CD of bands with pipes, fiddle and box
Na Fili from the seventies used those three instruments. They have cd's available on Outlet I believe and you can search them here in Recordings.
A present day ceili band that has pipes as well as fiddles and box is the Tain. They have one cd that I'm aware of.

Furry Village, Dorsa, occasionally Danu on one or two sets, Maureen Fahey's band (more or less Furry Village).
