Hello – I’m organizing another concert in Vermont this coming February. I know there are several Vermonters on this website. I hope to see you all out that night! I promise this will be an amazing night of Irish Traditional Music!

Don't miss this opportunity to hear *acoustic* traditional music played by musicians visiting from Ireland. Denis plays with Michael Hynes on the ‘Waifs and Strays’ CD. Dermot plays on the Fisherstreet CD.

Denis is a great fiddle player and instructor. We met him in Milwaukee where he was travelling with a large group of his students. The kids were terrific. I did not get to hear Denis perform, but sat next to him in a session or two. Brilliant stuff!!

His students are the All-Ireland winning Barefield Ceili Band! I have a couple of their CD's and they are wonderful! He teaches these kids at the Barefield National School in Clare.

I'll likely be more able to get to the Providence show with all of the snowfall we are getting! Thanksf for the link. But how far north is Richmond, VT from the MA border?

Well, it's not Canada, but you can see it from there.
Joyce, if you can get some of these people anywhere from Bennington to Rutland, or better yet Saratoga, NY (check out Caffe Lena as a possiblity. I'm an Arlington boy, but currently in exile across the border in NY) I'm so there. The Burlington area isn't entirely out of the question for me, but it 's enough of a hike to take serious thinking about.

The concert in Peterborough NH is close to Western MA. I've heard that musicians from the Peoples' Pint session in Greenfield MA will be there. If you live on the Eastern MA border, than Tuftsboro would be about 2 hours north and Providence would be 1.5 hours south I'm guessing.
Richmond VT is 3 hours from Somerville MA (northern part of Boston)
Richmond VT is about 1.5 hours north of Rutland VT. I don't remember the time it takes to get to Saratoga NY. But I can get to the Catskills in 4.5 hours from Richmond VT. Not sure if that helps...
If there are any skiers out there it might be nice to make a weekend trip up to Vermont. Stowe and Bolton Valley Ski area are very close by!! You could ski or snowboard during the day and catch some great Irish music at night! Just an idea. And if you haven't been downtown to Burlington Vermont yet, you are in for a treat! It's a very trendy, hip and beautiful little city that sits right on Lake Champlain.
