Sliabh Notes, the traditional group from the south-west of Ireland, features Dónal Murphy from Abbeyfeale, Matt Cranitch from Cork, and Tommy O’Sullivan from Dingle. Since the group was Formed about 1995, they have released three albums, and have established an enviable reputation for their high-quality traditional music.
Sliabh Notes’ sound is centered around the box and fiddle combination of Dónal Murphy and Matt Cranitch. Dónal, of the famed Murphy family from West Limerick, is noted for his rhythmic and driving style. He is regarded as one on the finest exponents of Irish accordion playing. Matt Cranitch has long been a highly regarded fiddle player, particularly in the Sliabh Luachra style. Matt is an authority on Sliabh Luachra music having researched and promoted this most unique style of music for many years. Singer and guitarist Tommy O’Sullivan completes the line-up. Hailed as one of the finest accompanists in the country, Tommy is also a renowned singer.

Thanks again Joyce fro bringing such great music to us"Vermonters"! Anyone who loves the music should consider moving up North. In the last few months we have heard June McCormack and Michael Rooney, Randal Bays and Roger Landes. Coming in March are Kevin Burke and Jerry Holland and on St. Paddy's Day - Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill! Plus we have snow and Mud Season.

After the Texas festival in early March Tommy O'Sullivan is heading out with Paddy Keenan to play concerts on the west coast, they're in Washington and Oregon and then down to northern california for about a week. So if you want to catch Tommy and Paddy watch Paddy's website and the listings should be up in a week or two...

Ye are in for a huge treat, these guys are playing some of the best music in Ireland. Their recordings are great, but wait till you hear them live.

i played a few sessions with Tommy O'Sullivan in south london and he showed me the 'open C' tuneing i've been using the last 20 yrs _fair play to him
